 We are partnering with:

Feed My Starving Children
. . .to bring a MobilePack food packaging event to Whitewater in the Spring of 2016.

SAVE THE DATE: April 2, 2016 at the Whitewater High School

Our inspiration: Special thanks to – Children’s World Impact – for inspiring us with the song: Do Something by Matthew West

DOsomethingMobilePack2016
If not us, then who?

If not now, then when?

It’s not enough to do nothing.

It’s time for us to do something.

Our goal is to bring community members together, including: families, churches, youth groups, service clubs and civic groups, university students, and more – all in one place. Together we can make a difference and use the opportunity to learn more about some of the other amazing groups in our own community and surrounding areas.

DSC_0905This is an international service project, but we will also be focusing on the needs of our own local food pantry at the same time. In order to bring this event to our community, we need to commit to paying for and packing at least 100,000 meals. This will not be a problem! In fact, most communities raise more than the minimum amount required. All additional money raised is just icing on the cake = more meals to pack and more volunteers who can help. Believe it or not, we will have to turn down volunteers because there won’t be enough to do. Expect at least three shifts (1.5-2 hours long) of 200+ volunteers each.

There are two parts to this event:
1. fundraising
2. food packing
DSC_0849Before we can pack food, we need your help with the fundraising.

Did you know that it only costs .22 cents to package a nourishing meal for a hungry child? We have decided that we can easily break those 100,000 meals into 22 manageable sponsorship opportunities. For $1000, your group can be a sponsor you can help us bring this event to Whitewater. This is a great fundraising project for your youth group, or for the young people of your group, but people of all ages benefit from the MobilePacking event itself. Ideas: Round that .22 cents up to a quarter and hold a quarter drive, or hold a fundraising dinner and have a free will donation, etc. For more ideas, see our website. Please consider being one of our 22 major sponsors.

"I volunteer to pack food whenever I can. It is also a great thing that my son can help as well. Not many places allow children to volunteer. Thank you so much for being there!" - Susan, FMSC Volunteer

Here are some photos from a similar MobilePack event that we participated in on Oct 4th, 2014 in Delavan, WI.

We have already had a small taste of the great things that can be done together as a community... Pictured are members of youth groups, service clubs and Girl Scouts - working together at a similar event opportunity in Delavan a few weeks ago.

We have already had a small taste of the great things that can be done together as a community… thanks to the efforts of Bridget from “the 19 days” who organized this event in Delavan, WI. Pictured is the crew from Whitewater who went (members of a youth group, service club and Girl Scout troop) – working together on Oct 4th, 2014. We packed individual food portions for: Feed my Starving Children. Special thanks to “the 19 days” for inviting us to help. Not many places allow CHILDREN to volunteer. They had a blast! We hope to bring an event like this to Whitewater, too.

Youth Nonprofit Fundraiser

Buying Toothbrushes and Paint is the BEST PART of a fundraiser for two nonprofits!

Being able to present those items to them = EVEN BETTER!!

Natalie and Morgan, and the M.A.D. Monday Mission Group, were able to buy:

  • Toothbrushes for Friends of the Children – Medical, Dental, & Health Educational Missions to Haiti
  • Paint for Studio 84

They had $740 to split two ways.

By the way, M.A.D. = Making a Difference 🙂

Morgan and Natalie were able to say the following when presenting the toothbrushes:

Our Middle school Group
M.A.D. MONDAY MISSION
is Making a difference in our community, in our country and in the world.
We’ve been working all year helping nonprofits with various projects.
Helping those who help others.
We are too young to volunteer @ some places, but we can
Bake cookies for the American Red Cross
Put together care packages filled with toiletries for Bethel House
Make Christmas Cards for Soldiers
Decorate Blank placemats with inspirational saying and pictures for residents at the Glen,
and more.
We’ve learned that some nonprofits, more than anything, only really need cash donations so they can buy the supplies they need to complete their missions.
Since we are only kids, we don’t have jobs, so we don’t have funds to give away.
We do, however, have time.
Time to create a unique fundraiser
Our CHALLANGE was:
Choose one local nonprofit and one international nonprofit.
Find a way to tie the two nonprofits together, and
Come up with a fundraiser that benefit  both of them.
Our solution: We LOVE your SMILE Art Contest.
Did you know that both ART & Good Dental care can improve self-esteem?
We encouraged local kids to show us their BEST smile and create a self-portrait.
The admission fee and recycled silent auction helped us raise money for
1. Studio 84 – an Art studio and therapy center here in Whitewater
2. Friends of the Children – a group from Delavan that travels to Haiti two times each year to help educated the residents about proper dental care – in addition to helping with Dental and medical needs, too.
We would like to introduce you to Mr. Tom Reichert, one of the original founders of Friends of the Children
Mr. Reichert, we worked really hard to earn the money for these toothbrushes and present them to you today so you can bring them down to Haiti with you in September.

If you wouldn’t mind, could you tell us how long you have been traveling to Haiti, how and why your group formed and any major plans you have for the future?

4th Annual Charity Run/Walk – KIDS ONLY! May 18th

DSC_0372bMorgan Radaj, one of our Middle School Students, is organizing the following event:

The DATE has been set for Sunday, May 18th, 2014, 1-2:30 p.m.

JOIN US for the 4th Annual KIDS Charity Run/Walk

Choose your charity (any charity you want) and decide on a fundraising goal.
Do the best you can (getting donations), and then join us on May 18th to see how many laps you can run/walk around the track.
The more laps you do = more money for your charity 🙂DSC_0469b

Hi, my name is Morgan. I am 12-years-old. I started this event four years ago and am very excited that it gets bigger and bigger each year 🙂 I got the idea for this event because I was too young to run in an adult charity run that my mother was doing….. so… I created my own.DSC_0477b

I am challenging kids at an early age to stop and look at the world around them. This Run/Walk is an opportunity for KIDS – to help anyone or anything in this world & it doesn’t matter what it is. Everyone is different and they should have an opportunity to have an opinion about what they are interested in – even at age 5, or age 6, or beyond. I want to help young kids realize that it doesn’t matter how old you are… Even Kids can make a difference in this world!

It’s okay to be a kid… but it’s also okay, even at a young age, to be empathetic, a good citizen, and to learn to “give” instead of only receive. “Giving” and “helping” feels good – and – it can be fun!
