Kiwanis Whitewater Breakfast Club – Speaker Morgan Radaj

DSC_1372

On July 15, 2014, Morgan Radaj, 13-years-old, was invited to be the guest speaker at the weekly Kiwanis meeting.

She talked about what she has been doing in the community over the last few years, her plans for future events, and then was invited to sign a book that will be donated to the Whitewater Public Library.

Kiwanis was especially excited to learn that Morgan and Natalie La Breche created – M.A.D. Monday Mission. In all reality, M.A.D. (which stands for Making a Difference) is “a club” or group of middle school aged kids getting together to work on community service projects. Kiwanis has a club both at the High school (Key Club) and College (Circle K), but not in the Middle school. WAY TO GO!! Natalie and Morgan for finding a need in the community and doing something about it.

Once school starts up again in the Fall, Kiwanis suggested that Morgan and Natalie should meet the Key Club members and the Circle K members.

The Kiwanis Whitewater Breakfast Club has a section of books at the public library. Each of their weekly speakers sign a book, write a little inspirational saying inside and then it is donated to the library. Here’s what Morgan wrote:

Whitewater Summer School Playhouse is Bringing Back The Ugly:

9july2014

The Whitewater Summer School Playhouse will be presenting Shrek-The Musical. Music by Jeanine Tesori. Book and Lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire. Based on the DreamWorks Animation Motion Picture and the book by William Steig. Shrek-The Musical brings the hilarious story of everyone’s favorite ogre to dazzling new life on the stage. In a faraway kingdom turned upside down, things get ugly when an unseemly ogre – not a handsome prince – shows up to rescue a feisty princess. Throw in a donkey who won’t shut up, a bad guy with a very short temper, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you’ve got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there’s one on hand . . . and his name is Shrek.

Under the direction of Jim McCulloch and Lori Heidenreich, the talented cast, crew and pit band members include:
Connor Dalzin, Travis Winger, Melissa Mursch, Destine Fuchs, Dakota Nufer, Remi VanDaele, Hannah Hitchcock, Jeremy Hoesly, Connor Murray, Laura Gilpatrick, Katie Julson, Andra Matthews, Gianna Creanza, Lauren Harkness, Joe Creanza, Caty Strait, Odessa Sonn, Jocelyn Crowe, Emma Stutzman, Gabe Schmemmel, Sarah Beckum, Colin Chenoweth, Yvanna Strait, Heather Ceranske, Henry Bresser, Hiqmet Dauti, Emma Stutzman, Ally Sedmak, Erin McManaway, Weston Lema, Hunter Martin, Derek Fuchs, Morgan Janovec, Kristof Staniszewski, Angie McKelvey, Sofie Mayer, Nicole Sedmak, Lydia Wiley-Deal, Callie Julson, Ella Smith, Jillian Harkness, Jake Martin, Gracia Boley, Allison Ceranske, Caroline Crowley, Tessa Papcke, Alyssa Rodriguez, Brooklyn Kolff, Maggie Jay, Betsy Hixson, Thomas McManaway, Dineth Gunawardean, Michael Hilliger, Josie Hintz, David Kromholtz, Andrea Kuhl, Maddie Kuhl, Michael Kuhl, Marren McCulloch, Gwen Smith, Emma VanDaele, Allisan Barrett, Josh Barrett, Annie Coburn, Mitch Dalzin, Perry Gilpatrick, Chamath Gunawadena, Jimmy King, Jeremy Reutebuch, Samson Shekey, Rachel Scott, Kayla Zilish, Kit Zoesch and Cici Crowe.

Public performances of Shrek will be Thursday and Friday July 10 & 11, at 7 pm and Saturday, July 12, at 2 pm, at the WHS Auditorium. Tickets are $8 for general and $5 for seniors and students. All seats are reserved and be purchased at the door or by calling the box office at 262-472-8178.
